Mission and Objectives
PHAROL's mission is to extract maximum value from its assets, reduce its liabilities to third parties and return maximum cash to its Shareholders, with a low-cost structure and in the shortest period of time, taking into account the following strategic guidelines:
Maximize and defend the value of the assets in the portfolio;
Minimize liabilities to third parties;
Return cash surplus to shareholders;
Minimize the operating cost structure.
PHAROL, SGPS S.A.'s mission is also to integrate a set of ethical values of conduct and sustainability into all its activities, which it considers fundamental and defining to its identity.
As of December 31, 2023, PHAROL holds the following as its main assets:
the debt instruments of Rio Forte Investments S.A. (“Rio Forte”) with a nominal value of 897 million Euros and currently valued at 51.9 million Euros;
investment in share and bond portfolios worth 25.8 million Euros;
cash and cash equivalents worth 17.2 million Euros;
1,092,584 ordinary shares of Oi S.A. (“Oi”), representing 0.18% of the respective share capital (without treasury shares), with a value of 130 thousand Euros.
Corporate Struture and Investment
The current structure of the PHAROL Group is as follows:
PHAROL owns 100% Bratel B.V., based in the Netherlands and operating as a financial vehicle and, directly and indirectly, PHAROL Brasil, where administrative support is provided to PHAROL SGPS in Brazil. It also holds, through Bratel BV, in Brussels Sarl, headquartered in Luxembourg, where the shareholding in Oi is concentrated.
